Advanced DSE Training for Assessors

Expectant Mothers , HotDesking and Laptop Users, Multiple Screens Stations, Homeworkers and PDA Users

“Training your staff will actually want to go to!”

Our Advanced DSE Training for Assessors is a training course specifically designed to provide the employees responsible for carrying out specialized Workstation Assessment and DSE Training within your organization with the knowledge, skills, technical and practical experience required to carry out individual risk assessments for high risk and special categories and train all your employees in these categories on using Display Screen Equipment safely.

The training course is specifically designed to allow your staff to be able to deliver DSE Assessment for high risk and special categories employees including Expectant Mothers, Hotdesking and Laptop Users, Multiple Screens Stations, Homeworkers and PDA Users.

Your company can select on any combination of the above high risk or special categories and the course is then customised to meet your company specific needs and requirements for training.

Participants learn about the requirements set forth by The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 (DSE Regulations), as amended, as well as a broad range of related topics. During the training course, participants are guided through the various key elements for assessing individuals in high risk and special categories such as expectant mothers and laptop users.

The course includes an extensive review of major musculoskeletal conditions and disorders associated with high risk categories and is unique in that it allows an in-depth review of special categories users such as PDA and Multiple Screen Users. Having worked closely with a number of ergonomics specialists, we have designed a training course that is effective and memorable.  The course is delivered over a number of days, 5 to 7 on average (depending on the total number of attendees and topics to be covered) and uses a blend of interactive and classroom style training techniques.

Participants are given an in-depth overview of risk reduction strategies as they learn about the causes and consequences of spinal and upper limb disorders linked to the use of Display Screen Equipment in high risk categories.

Postural awareness, back care, injury prevention and rehabilitation considerations are taught through a number of practical and theory based exercises.  Participants also learn about possible risks to vision and ways to reduce risk and manage existing conditions.

Participants also have the opportunity to undertake Workstation Assessment and DSE Training on a number of other individuals alongside our trainers.  This provides them with the opportunity to practice the material covered in the training and receive the guidance and feedback of our trainers whilst delivering the assessment/training to other employees.

The Workstation Assessment and DSE Training is held on your premises, for up to 15 people, and is designed to give your staff the skills, confidence and knowledge required to carry out effective workstation assessments and DSE Training.

Duration
Vigilaris’ Advanced DSE Training for Assessors courses are designed around the time available for staff and is usually completed in 5 to 7 days.

The interactive component of the training can be completed individually by each participant on his or her time and is then assessed prior to the practical element of the course.

Customisation
As the Advanced DSE Training for Assessors is delivered in your premises, we recommend each client customise the training by providing us with your company’s logo, Workstation Assessment and DSE Training policy and any other relevant information that can be used in the course and should be shared with all participants.  The information provided will then be added to the relevant section of the training and will be included as integral part of the training course.  There is no additional charge for customisation.

Certification
Upon successful completion of the training, the company is issued with a Certificate, which is sent directly to your office within a few days of the training course and confirms that your team has completed the course successfully.  Additional testing may be provided depending on your specific requirements.
